Single wheel tester

Drawbar pull-slip curves

Via a continuous variation of the angular velocity of the measuring wheel at a constant driving velocity of the single wheel tester, drawbar pull-slip curves of the tyre are recorded. Both driving and braking slip are investigated.

Lateral force-slip angle curves

The lateral force is measured on a free rolling tyre against the slip angle of the tyre. Different slip angle rates of change lead to a significant change in lateral force transmission behaviour.

Combined slip conditions

The recording of tyre plots (lateral force over longitudinal force) is achieved with the investigation of combined slip conditions. For this purpose, the tyre experiences both longitudinal slip (driving or braking slip) and lateral slip (slip angle).

Obstacle passes and different terrain

The single wheel tester is mobile and can be used on all different kinds of terrain. Besides its usage on even surfaces and obstacle passes, the force transmission characteristics on deformable terrain are investigated.
